The Bulgarian Ambassador, Mr. Dimitar Mihaylov visited the NationalAgricultural Research Center(NARC).
Received by Dr.Nizar Haddad, the Director-General, his excellency toured the center and familiarized himself with the facilities and the research activities implemented, looking forward to future collaboration in different agricultural aspects.
Haddad said that the significance of this visit comes within the framework of collaboration and networking with the international institutions and within the consideration of future cooperation in many fields of agriculture, especially those related to the employment of scientific research outputs, in various aspects such as energy, agriculture, and climate change, as well.
During the meeting, Haddad welcomed collaboration with the Republic of Bulgaria, asserting sharing of expertise between the two parties and benefitting from Bulgarian experience in the agricultural sector, specifically in the medical plants field, most important the Lavender plant.
On his part, His Excellency, His Excellency Mr. Dimitar Mihaylov referred to the leading role of NARC in transferring modern agricultural technologies, the empowerment of researchers and specialists, and the consolidation of innovation and agribusiness entrepreneurship through the Agricultural Innovation Incubator, emphasizing, at the same time, on building bridges of cooperation to address the challenges of climate change, irrigation, the optimal use of natural resources and the extraction of lavender oils as a medicinal plant, as well as making use of the technical expertise of the Bulgarian private sector.
